Travel/Prep Day

The travel begins today for Pat and Hartley as they catch a ferry off the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver. They will stay overnight and catch their flight to Toronto in the morning. They have already checked in and have had their bags packed for the last week :-) They are excited for both the event and their first trip to Europe!

Agnes Northeast just arrived home to Calgary last night from a work related event in Chicago this past week. It will be a quick turnaround for her but Chad will have everything ready to go of course! Sure hope he booked the right flight this time around:-) They will catch a flight tomorrow out of Calgary to Toronto along with Will Gross. Stephanie will join us later next week.

Michi has completed packing and will now try to figure out how to get all his stuff and family to the airport at 3 a.m.! I believe Stan Anderson will be assisting him with boxes etc.  Both Michi and Liyan have been asking about the availability of rice in Switzerland as this is a major staple for all three of them. (Michi barely survived South Africa!). We all thought it would not be an issue then we heard through the F3A grape vine that several countries, including Korea, have pre-shipped rice cookers to Switzerland. Who knew! Michi may have to track down those teams... or bring a rice cooker. Just one more item.

Kelly and I are putting the final touches on packing and will meet up with the Akimoto family in the morning for our trip out of Victoria.  Tomorrow both Colin and Ethan will join us all at the airport in Toronto for our flight to Zurich as a team. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

The internet blogs and FB pages have been active with several teams starting to make their way to Zurich already. The Australian Team arrived this morning following a grinder trip via Dubai and everything looked like it arrived safely. They are settling in to their hotel as I type and I also understand that it is fairly close to our airport location. Glenn Orchard and gang will lead the way and hopefully get some info on sim cards etc. for us. We will definitely be meeting up at some point.

Colombian Marcelo Valez made it to Barcelona and is hitching a ride with Spanish Team members to Zurich.

The USA team is also starting to travel and we are guaranteed to see them as we stay at the same hotel near the airport.
